All About Polanca Bull Terriers
Polanca Bull Terriers is based in Harlow, Essex, and is made up of myself, Lorraine and my partner Terry along with our menagerie of animals. We have a grand total of 4 dogs, 2 cats and 10 snakes.
The story for me started at the age of 8 when I saw my first Bull Terrier in real life at my vets. It was love at first sight and from that time on I knew the only dog I wanted was a Bull Terrier. For Terry, his father bought a Bull Terrier as a house dog for the family and Gemma made an impact as only Bull Terriers can!
When I turned 20, I requested as a birthday present, my first Bull Terrier! So after some investigation, reading and research I called up Mr Ken Morrow, Megavar Bull Terriers and Bodger, 'Lone Ranger' came to live with me. We did a few local shows where we didn't do very well but I was happy to take my lovely boy home at the end of the day!
My parents got bitten by the Bully bug and bought a lovely male puppy from Tony and Diane McCann at Diton Bull Terriers. Dempsey, 'Diton Dandini' was shown by me, and we even ventured out to some Champ shows. Unfortunately his mouth went at about 8 months so we stopped showing. It was 2005 before I set foot in the show ring again.
In 2000 I lost Bodger at 11 to kidney failure. The loss was hard to bear, and I felt the need for Bull Terrier company a few months after. In June 2000, I bought home Dylan, Italian Battle Flag, from a 1st time breeder who had used Ch Caliber Saranova. Dylan never set foot in the show ring, he was a fabulous pet and lived a great life with us until 18th December 2009 when we lost him after a 2 year illness.
In October 2004, we decided to look for a BT bitch. So we duly did the web and phone thing, finding a litter at Bilboen Bull Terriers in Kent. Sarah Foster gave us the third degree and fortunately decided we were suitable. We became the proud owners or Poppy, Bilboen Legally Blonde. I resumed my showing and we did ok over the next few years, getting a KC affix in the process - POppy, DyLAN, CAllie.
Then in July 2008, Harvey was born. Our dear friends Mark and Audrey at Ragnarok Bull Terriers decided he should live with us and so the latest leg of our Bull Terrier journey began!
And has now been continued with the arrival of Daphne - Ragnarok Daralis with Polanca!
